Cross of Life Community Church
Statement of Beliefs

We Hold These To Be True:

Jesus Christ Is Lord:

We at Cross of Life Community Church believe fully in the deity of Jesus Christ as the only begotten Son of God. We believe in his substitutionary death for all mankind, His resurrection from the dead, and the second advent of his return to judge the living and the dead, and the creation of a new heaven and earth.

Eternal Salvation:

We believe that mankind is born with a sinful nature and that the work of the Cross of Jesus was to redeem man from the bondage of sin. We believe that eternal salvation is a free gift from God the Father, through faith in his son Jesus Christ, and is available to all who receive it.

The Holy Spirit:

We believe in the existance and the workings of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is recognized as the third person of the Trinity. We believe in his interactions with man. We believe in the Baptism of the Holy Spirit as manifested by the fruit and gifts of the Spirit which God gives to each believer to be used to build-up and edify the Church Body.

The Word of God:

We believe in the sacred scriptures of the Holy Bible to be the inspired Word of God, and is the complete revelation of God's perfect will for mankind. We believe in the absolut authority of the Holy Bible to govern the physical, as well as the spiritual affairs of mankind.

Stewardship:

We believe that all of mankind is a steward of his/her life and resources which come from God, and ultimately belong to God. We believe that tithing is a proper measure of spiritual maturity and obedience to the principels of stewardship.

The Church:

We believe in the Church as the eternal and universal Body of Christ consisting of all those who heve faithfully accepted the atoning work of the Cross for the forgiveness of sins. We believe in the need for a local assembly of believers for the purpose of Evangelism, Discipling, and the Equiping of the Body to meet the physical and spiritual needs of the congeration.

Praise and Worship:

We believe in the individual and community worship of our Lord Jesus Christ through prayer, singing clapping, and the lifting of holy hands. We believe in the freedom to worship God, as lead by His Holy Spirit, in a reverent and honoring manner.

Body Ministry:

We believe in the ministry of the Holy Spirit to the Church body through the laying on of hands, anointing with oil by the church elders and deacons, and the dedicated intercessory of prayers by the church body on behalf of others.

Evangelism:

We believe that evangelism is the obligation of every believer in the Lord Jesus Christ. The Lord commands us to "go and make disciples of all nations." We believe that each person is first responsible to evangelism of his/her own family as the Holy Spirit would lead them and give them the ability.

Water Baptism:

We believe in the ordinance of water baptism by immersion in obedience to the Word of God. All those who have repented of their sins, and have freely accepted Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior, should be baptized in water as a public profession of their faith in Christ and to experience what the Bible refers to as the "circumcision of the spirit."

Our Commitment to Our Hebrew Legacy:

We believe in the promise of Genesis 12:3 regarding the Jewish people and the nation of Israel. We believe that this is an eternal covenant between God and the seed of Abraham to which God is forever faithful, and we being the "wild branch" grafted into the vine.

The Preisthood of All Believers:

We believe that every believer has a unique relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ. As His children, every Christian has immediate access to the throne of God our heavenly Father, and the ability to manifest the earthly ministry of Jesus Christ by the empowering of the Holy Spirit in us and through us.
